The latest numbers available now have the number of fatalities in Newton County up to 12, bringing the total number in Missouri alone to 14. The other two fatalities (which were mentioned in the last update) came from Purdy in Barry County where one death was reported yesterday evening as well as one in Jasper County.
There are indications this afternoon that the number may increase. Hopefully that isn't the case. Numerous injuries have also been reported, some of them very serious. Most, however, were minor.
