The New York Post is reporting that former Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has filmed a pilot for his new tv news show that is likely to appear in the the Fox News Channel's weekend lineup sometime later this fall. It also appears it will be in front of a live studio audience.

In the article, Huckabee also downplays any notion of accepting a cabinet position from McCain, if he wins in November.

Brit Hume To Step Down From Special Report

The Washington Post is reporting that Brit Hume, anchor of Special Report and Washington Managing Editor for Fox News, is stepping down at the end of the 2008 election. Hume has been with Fox News since the network began and has almost always been the ratings leader during his 5 p.m. show for the past seven years.

The article goes on to say that Hume will likely stay on as a senior analyst and provide commentary, much the same way Tom Brokaw has for NBC News.

Laura Ingraham On Her Way "In" To Fox News

TVNewser is reporting this evening that Laura Ingraham will be hosting a program called "Just In" on Fox News, starting next week at 4 p.m. central time. This means that at least for the time being Megyn Kelly and Bill Hemmer will only be anchoring their morning block for Fox News. This is really bad news for Heather Nauert and John Gibson, who used to occupy the spot with The Big Story. It looks like their show has been canned.

Who's the worst over yet?

Tornadoes are ripping across the country, leaving death and devestation in their wake. Who are you going to bring in to the Fox News Channel to cover it? Shepard Smith? Greta Van Susteren? No, Ainsley Earhardt!

From Larry and Keith To Bill...

Fresh off of her interviews with Larry King and Keith Olbermann, Fox News has announced that Sen. Hillary Clinton will be interviewed by Bill O'Reilly and portions of that interview will appear both tomorrow and Thursday on his television show, The O'Reilly Factor. This will be her first appearance on the highest rated show in cable news. Sen. Barack Obama has yet to appear on the show.

The Blackout Is Over... Obama Arrives On Fox News Sunday

It had been 772 days according to the Fox News tracker. It had been that long since Chris Wallace, anchor of the program, challenged Sen. Barack Obama to appear on the Sunday show before he accepted. This morning the counting is over.

Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Obama pretty much killed the idea of any more debate with Sen. Clinton between now and the May 6th primaries in North Carolina and Indiana. He cited the fact that he and Clinton had already debated 21 times while Wallace seemed to indicate it was because of the fact that the last ABC debate went poorly for him.

FNC Personality In A Bikini

Apparently, it is true and Outside Cable News has the details (along with some rather testy comments/reader responses). Her name is Courtney Friel and I have to turn the channel when she appears on Fox News because while she is pretty, she is not an anchor. Oh, by the way, she posed for Maxim.

Big Tuesday for Cable News!!!

The results are in and CNN is the clear frontrunner for political coverage. Super Tuesday handily went to CNN. According to TV Newser, CNN averaged 3.6 million viewers in primetime. FOX News followed behind with 3.4 million, MSNBC pulled a strong 2.1 million, while CNN Headline News limped along with 575,000 viewers in primetime.

Hillary Wins; McCain and Huckabee Down To The Wire

All of the news networks called Hillary's Nevada win a few hours ago.

Now the focus turns to South Carolina where it looks to be extremely close between John McCain and Mike Huckabee. Polls close there at 6:00 local time. The News2K will be following this story throughout the evening.

Nevada Republican Caucus: FOX News and MSNBC Call Race; CNN Finally Joins It

**UPDATE** CNN has finally called the Nevada Caucus for Mitt Romney at 1:00 p.m. If it took them this long to call Nevada for the Republicans, it may be a long afternoon for the Democratic Caucus... not to mention the SC GOP Primary.

FOX News and MSNBC called the Republican caucus concerning Nevada at the beginning of the 12:00 hour. Still, at 12:45 p.m., CNN has not called the race. Entrance poll data from CNN has this a close race between Romney and Ron Paul. Is that why CNN is holding the call? More as it develops...

FNC's Courtney Friel... IQ...uh, I'm all about street smarts!

Julie Banderas brags about her 135 IQ, Greg Jarrett can't remember his, and Courtney Friel... well... she dodges the number question but insinuates she might not have that high of a score.

"Fair and Balanced" Debate?

Umm... I don't think so. Fox News just had a Republican Presidential debate. Funny how Guiliani, Romney, and Thompson all got tons of air time. What about the other candidates, especially Huckabee and McCain? I just don't understand how voters are supposed to make a decision when the media has already "crowned" the "top tier". Tancredo who? Duncan what?

I shouldn't just place blame FOX... all the networks do it to some extent. Tonight's debate, however, was the most unbalanced debate I have seen so far. I find it highly unfair considering Huckabee and McCain are both polling stronger in recent weeks.

Hmmm... is John Gibson in trouble??

The Big Story gets a co-anchor starting on September 17. According to the Fox News page, Heather Nauert (former feature reporter for the show) is coming back to join John Gibson at the anchor. There are rumblings that Gibson could be shown the door if ratings don't improve. Only time will tell if this is the case.

Rita Cosby Back on FNC...

Just for one night! Tomorrow night the former Fox News Channel and MSNBC anchor will promo her book entitled Blonde Ambition on the popular O'Reilly Factor. TV Newser scoops some details about the book that are sure to shock those who followed the death of Anna Nicole Smith and the subsequent custody battle.
